Tips for Preventing Suspicious Returns and Return Fraud During the Holiday Period
This holiday season, prevent return fraud by spotting patterns, training support teams, and using Redo & Yofi’s tools to protect
My name is Mikey, and I am a senior at Georgetown University, majoring in finance and entrepreneurship. I am originally from Atlanta and have been active on campus throughout my time here. This year, in particular, my focus has been building Estuary! Beyond Estuary, I am a member of Alpha Phi Alpha and the president of Georgetown's mock trial club. In my free time, I enjoy swimming, playing basketball, reading, and playing video games.
I first became interested in sneakers in 7th grade when I was shopping with my brother and grandmother. I was already a huge fan of Kevin Durant, and one day I saw the bright orange Kevin Durant 6s at Champs. We both thought they were $300, but found out that they were $130. Our perception was skewed by our mother, so when we saw the cheap prices, we convinced our grandmother the shoes were on sale! We said it was a “slam dunk” deal and we needed to get them. Luckily, my mom was not too upset when we got home!
Currently, my go-to sneaker is the Panda Dunks! Also, I just got the adidas x Bad Bunny Buckle Low in the tan colorway, and I love them.
Good question! I would love to see J. Cole work on another sneaker project, as I loved his first collaboration with Puma. He has the creativity to make something unique and authentic, which would do really well. I think that SZA or Metro Boomin would be amazing because they both are extremely creative with their unique styles.
The inspiration for Estuary started in a course at Georgetown called Launching Entrepreneurial Ventures. I came up with the idea with some friends, and after conducting surveys, we saw a lot of interest in our idea. We then formed a team of people with different skills and expertise; everything just took off from there. I was interested in getting more shoes, but the fees for buying sneakers were too expensive, so I came up with the idea for Estuary to make it easier and more accessible for people to get the sneakers they want at the price they deserve!
If I could go back, I would tell myself to stay the course. There will be tough days, but it's important not to get too high on the highs and too low on the lows. It's important to stay even keel and keep pushing forward.
I would tell the sneaker community that Estuary is here to change the game. We are getting rid of all fees with our subscription model, which means that buyers will get the best prices, and sellers will make a better profit.
To help support Estuary, I encourage the larger sneakerhead community to check out our website (Tik Tok & YouTube), subscribe to our service, and follow us on social media, such as Instagram and Twitter. We are trying to raise brand awareness, and any support from the sneakerhead community would be greatly appreciated.
